Business authors build automation solutions using a combination of Automate Studio, a desktop application, and the Automate Evolve solution builder functionality via a browser. Administrators
manage all aspects of the Automate Evolve platform using the administration and reporting functionality via a browser.

All interactions with the Automate Evolve application server are performed by standard REST API protocols. The APIs are authenticated via an authentication service layer that supports Mixed (NTLM + Negotiate), Kerberos (Negotiate), and SAML 2.0.  The Automate Evolve application server interacts with the Evolve application database using TCP/IP protocols. The optional worker service (if set up) will interact with the Evolve application server through a standard Microsoft messaging infrastructure–MSMQ.

The Automate Evolve application server can directly connect to SAP or via the Automate Evolve worker service. Both platform elements use RFC to communicate with SAP. The Precisely Automate Function Module is installed on your SAP systems.
