Why did you choose to pursue a career in technology?
During my studies, technology wasn’t necessarily on my radar; my main goal was achieving financial independence. My aptitude for mathematics and logical reasoning naturally directed me toward an engineering degree. Upon graduating, I found a deep interest in software testing, which aligned perfectly with my emphasis on quality. As a result, I was able to start a career in tech and achieve my goal.
Who has been your greatest professional mentor? What’s one thing have you learned from them?
My first manager at Siemens recognized my potential for multitasking and taught me how to optimize my day and work efficiently. Despite of my junior position, she entrusted me with challenging tasks, which I successfully tackled. This experience boosted my confidence and encouraged me to embrace new challenges without hesitation.
My current manager, Amit Jain has been pivotal in refining my management skills, leadership qualities, and stakeholder management abilities. He has also imparted valuable insights on handling difficult situations with skill and diplomacy.

What’s the biggest risk you took in your career? What was the reward?
Choosing to move into a management role instead continuing to pursue individual contributor positions felt like a risk. This decision meant stepping beyond personal career aspirations to embrace the responsibility of nurturing and developing my team.
This shift not only introduced me to new professional challenges, but also provided unexpected insights into my personal life. Reflecting on this journey, I take pride in my choice to move into management. The personal and professional growth I’ve achieved by overcoming various obstacles has affirmed the value of that decision and enriched my career path.
As a woman, what challenges have you faced in the technology industry? How have you overcome them?
As a woman in the technology industry, I’ve encountered various challenges, particularly in work-life balance. Like many working women, I often juggle multiple roles and responsibilities, which often leads to feelings of guilt about not spending enough time with family or not being fully dedicated to work. Societal norms often expect women to prioritize family responsibilities ahead of professional ambitions, adding complexity to managing these competing priorities. In the rapidly evolving IT industry, staying up to date with the latest technology is essential, adding to the challenges. Coping with all these expectations can be very demanding.
Precisely initiatives like diversity-promoting policies, flexible hybrid work arrangements, and programs focused on women’s empowerment, such as the WeLead Program, have helped me to overcome these challenges. Gradually, I’m mastering the art of time management and delegation, which have significantly helped me navigate and overcome these obstacles.
What’s the best advice you’ve ever been given? How do you apply it to your personal and professional life?
The best advice I’ve ever received is, “keep pushing forward until you succeed. Failure imparts invaluable lessons, while success prepares you for even grander challenges.”
This quote has reshaped how I approach my journey. I’ve learned that making mistakes is acceptable, as long as we learn from them. Instead of being concerned about setbacks, I focus on my long-term goals without worrying about failures.
What’s one piece of advice you’d offer to younger women entering the industry?
Cultivate a Growth Mindset: Approach challenges as opportunities for growth rather than obstacles. This mindset helps reframe perceived setbacks and encourages continuous improvement.
Adapt to Change: Be open to change and willing to pivot when necessary. Adaptability is essential in today’s fast-paced world, particularly in technology sectors where innovations are constant.
Every obstacle is an opportunity to learn and grow. By being resilient and focusing on continuous growth, you’ll build confidence and unlock new opportunities.
As a successful woman in technology, what’s one thing you do to pay it forward and advocate for other women in the field?
As a successful woman in technology, I pay it forward by sharing my experiences, offering guidance, and creating opportunities for growth and development. I encourage my female colleagues and friends to believe in themselves and recognize their strengths. Within my scope of influence, I strive to foster a supportive network and advocate for equal opportunities, helping other women navigate challenges and advance in their careers.
